Global Marketing

Swirl is a member of TheNetworkOne, which is an independent consultancy based in London, England. Since 2003, TNO has built a network of 300+ independent agencies and specialists in 60 countries, each capable of helping other agencies and clients achieve unique international advertising and marketing communications objectives. http://www.thenetworkone.com/

As a member of TheNetworkOne, Swirl worked within the TNO's network to secure a partner agency in Europe. After interviewing numerous TNO partner agencies, Swirl aligned with Billington Cartmell. BC was created in 1990 in London England, by two gentlemen who shared the common belief that "Great Ideas Grow Great Brands." Today, BC staffs over 140 employees and offers direct, digital, promotional and experiential advertising and marketing solutions to a wide variety of European clients who include Mazda, Panasonic, Nescafe and most recently, in partnership with Swirl, Inc., Lexar Media. Marketing Magazine hailed BC as the "2008 Sales Promotion Agency of the Year."

Recent Major Global Marketing Campaigns

Lexar

In 2008, Swirl began a global positioning effort for Lexar to analyze the memory category and glean insights into key market challenges and identify opportunities for growth on a global scale for 2009 and beyond. To successfully position Lexar as a mobile memory product leader and build upon brand awareness, Swirl developed a corporate brand promise to anchor all Lexar global communications. This became: When Memory Matters™. Swirl first developed a global mobile marketing campaign, but executives at Lexar deemed the new mobile look and feel such a success, they mandated an update of their entire product packaging line, which launched globally in 2009.



The California Table Grape Commission

The California Table Grape Commission has actively marketed "Fresh California Grapes" in 28 countries for years. Until 2008, each market received a variety of in-store promotion and POS materials, while 10-15 markets also received consumer advertising developed by various regional partners and around the globe.

In 2008, CTGC selected Swirl as their partner to develop the first-of-its-kind integrated global marketing campaign. With growing competition coming from around the world, it was important to generate awareness of and differentiate "Grapes from California" from any other grapes.

With a streamlined, yet customized approach, Swirl developed global messaging for 28 countries. Each region was provided with three options of appetizing messages from which to choose their key message for the season and Swirl oversaw the translation of these messages into 22 languages and placed that messaging into 11 unique scalable mechanicals. With these scalable files, the regions could customize sizing as needed, while maintaining the established look and feel which included the Grapes from California logo for consistency around the world.

For 2010, Swirl continues to build on the success of the campaign and evolve the branding for Grapes from California to extend into additional markets and media vehicles. Consumer preference has reached unprecedented levels with 93% of U.S. consumers preferring fresh Grapes from California over grapes from another.
